Ce dimanche matin, à 9h30, je concélèbre la dernière messe à la Paroisse de St-Viator / Kitashirakawa avant mon départ pour le 二十六聖人長崎の道, le pèlerinage qui suit le chemin des 26 martyrs de Kyoto à Nagasaki. This Sunday morning, at 9:30am, I participate at the last mass in the St.Viator / Kitashirakawa Parish before starting the 二十六聖人長崎の道, the pilgrimage of the 26 martyrs from Kyoto to Nagasaki. Father Yves Boisvert prepared a sending celebration with a blessing “for those who leave…”

9時半、カトリック北白川教会での長崎への道へ出発する日のミサ。イヴ・ホクスヴェール神父による「旅立つ者のための」祝福。

La toute première étape je l’ai vécu dès midi en suivant les traces des 26 martyrs à travers la ville de Kyoto depuis leur arrestation. Au lieu de faire ce parcours tout seul le lendemain – comme initialement planifié, je me joins au ミニ巡礼, au mini-pèlerinage organisé par la Paroisse de Nishijin, en partant de la chapelle des Franciscains. Pleins d’explications historiques jalonnaient le chemin. Après la messe avec les autres pèlerins vers 14h, j’ai le courage de boucler la boucle en finissant le parcours des martyrs… à la tombée de la nuit. Finalement mon premier jour de pèlerinage ne fut pas si « mini » que ça !

Juste avant le départ! — Mini-Junrei is to start!

Beginning at noon, I accomplished the first steps of my pilgrimage, walking the historical pathway through the city of Kyoto the 26 martyrs were forced to do after their arrest. What I planned doing by myself the next day, I did it as ミニ巡礼, i.e. a Parish organized mini-pilgrimage leading from the Franciscan Chapel to the Nishijin Catholic Church. A lot of historical explanations on the way… After the mass with the other pilgrims at 2pm in the Nishijin Church, I decided to finish the course of the martyrs… at nightfall. Finally my first pilgrimage day wasn’t as “mini” as that!

私は長崎への道の巡礼の第一歩を、正午に踏み出した。捕縛された二十六人の殉教者が京都市内で引き回された歴史的な道。この道は、もともと私自身が翌日のミニ巡礼路として計画していたフランシスコの聖堂からカトリック西陣教会までの道。小教区が企画し、声掛けをしていただいており、参加者と共に歩いた。途中、たくさんの歴史情報をいただいた。
